Atlas Roof Replacement in Fort Lauderdale: What to Know First

Atlas roof replacement in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $11,000 – $22,000 depending on roof size, decking condition, and the Atlas shingle line you choose, with most jobs completed in 2 – 5 days once materials hit the property. We’re an independent Atlas service provider, so we’re not affiliated with the manufacturer, but our crews replace Atlas roofs throughout Broward County every week and know exactly how these systems behave in coastal heat and hurricane-season rain. If you own an Atlas roof that’s aging, leaking, or losing granules faster than it should, you’ll want a roofer who can speak to your specific shingle series, not someone giving you a generic quote over the phone. Call us at (754) 354-8628 and Dylan or a member of the crew will walk you through what’s actually going on up there.

How Atlas Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

  • Atlas StormMaster Shake – granule sloughing in humid exposure. This heavyweight shingle looks great for the first six or seven years, but Fort Lauderdale’s salt-heavy air and relentless UV can accelerate granule loss on the shadow lines. What you see is a dark sheen in streaks; what’s happening is the ceramic coating is breaking down faster than the asphalt beneath it. When replacement is the right call, we pull back the old deck and inspect it for rot before we even talk shingle choice.
  • Atlas Pinnacle Pristine – nail strip lift on older installs. If your roofer ran nails above the manufacturer’s nail line on a Pinnacle Pristine job, thermal cycling will eventually push the shingle tabs up and crack the seal strip. We see this on homes in Coral Ridge, Riverside Park, and Victoria Park where roofs were put in fast during the 2010s construction boom. The fix is a full re-roof when the lift spans half the slopes or more – you can’t spot-fix compromised seal strips on a 25-year-old roof.
  • Atlas HP42 – failure at the starter course. HP42 is a fine dimensional shingle, but if the installer skipped a proper starter strip or used a mismatched aftermarket starter, the bottom course is the first to go in wind events. Fort Lauderdale gets enough tropical storm gusts each summer that we’re regularly replacing roofs where the field shingles are fine but the eaves are peeling. We always run a dedicated starter course and hand-nail the perimeter, no exceptions.
  • Flashing failures around wall-roof junctions on any Atlas line. This isn’t an Atlas problem so much as an Atlas-specific observation: many Fort Lauderdale homes with Atlas roofs have step flashing that was never properly integrated into the wall cladding. Step flashing is the bent metal that weaves into the wall and the shingle course to stop water at the intersection. When we re-roof, we cut the old flashing out and install new, never caulk over it and call it done.
  • Decking rot under Atlas Layover systems. A second layer of Atlas shingles over an existing roof traps heat and moisture against the plywood deck. In Fort Lauderdale’s summer humidity, that means decking rot is common even when the shingles above still look intact. Any honest re-roof starts with a full tear-off so we can see the deck, mark soft spots, and replace those sheets before new underlayment goes down. We won’t install Atlas over an old roof; it voids the warranty math and buries the problem.

Our Atlas Roof Replacement Process

  1. 1
Roof inspection and measurement. We get on the roof, check valley integrity, flashing, pipe boots, and deck condition from the attic side if accessible. We measure every plane so the written quote is priced off actual square footage, not a satellite guess.
  2. 2
Written price before any work starts. The number on the estimate is the number on the invoice. If decking replacement becomes necessary after tear-off, you’ll know the per-sheet rate before we cut anything. No change orders, no “we found rot” surprise at day two.
  3. 3
Tear-off and decking replacement. We strip old shingles, felt, and damaged plywood. All replaced sheets get the same OSB or plywood grade as the surrounding deck.
  4. 4
Atlas system install per manufacturer spec. Ice and water shield runs at least 24 inches up all eaves and valleys. Synthetic underlayment over the full deck. New flashing at every penetration, chimney, and wall tie-in. Then the Atlas shingle line of your choice, hand-nailed around the perimeter and at every hip and ridge.
  5. 5
Cleanup and photo documentation. We run a magnet over the yard and driveway, clean out gutters and downspouts, and walk the property twice before we call it done. You get before-and-after photos and a digital invoice by text, per the Relay Standard.
  6. 6
Warranty and follow-up. Every repair we make has a 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If something fails within the year, we’re back at no charge. No negotiation, no runaround.

What Atlas Roof Replacement Costs in Fort Lauderdale

For a typical 2,000-square-foot single-story home in Fort Lauderdale, a full Atlas Pinnacle Pristine or HP42 re-roof runs $11,000 – $16,000 with tear-off, decking repairs where needed, underlayment, flashing, and haul-away. Atlas StormMaster Shake lands higher, usually $15,000 – $22,000 due to the shingle weight and added labor. The biggest price movers are roof pitch, decking condition, and whether you’re replacing a second layer. We’ll show you the per-line price on the written estimate so you can decide if the premium line is worth it for your house. Why Fort Lauderdale Homeowners Call Crestview Roofing Co Fort Lauderdale for Atlas Work

Most roofers can install a shingle. Few can tell you why your Atlas roof is failing in the first place. Dylan Pace and the crew at Crestview Roofing Co Fort Lauderdale have spent years working on Fort Lauderdale roofs from Las Olas Boulevard to the Broward corridor, and we know which Atlas products hold up in this climate and which ones don’t. When we re-roof, we give you a written price before any work begins, a live trackable arrival time, photo proof before and after the job, and a digital invoice by text when we’re done. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every repair we make for a full year, in writing, included with every job. If it fails, we come back free. And if Atlas doesn’t make sense for your home anymore, we install GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed too, so you’ll get the right shingle, not just the one we’re trying to sell.
